🌱 Supporting the 9-Year Change
Around age 9, children experience a shift in consciousness - feeling separate from the world for the first time. Hearth Circle can help:
- • Provide stability - Consistent routine offers security
- • Honor feelings - Create space to share worries and fears
- • Tell relevant stories - Hebrew stories of exile and journey mirror their experience
- • Practical skills - Building, cooking, gardening provide grounding
- • Connection to earth - Nature observation anchors them
💡 3rd Grade Tips
- • Full leadership - Children can run entire circle independently
- • Journaling - Write reflections, gratitudes, and story responses
- • Comparative religion - Explore how different cultures tell similar stories
- • Practical connections - Link stories to farming, building, cooking
- • Memory work - Longer verses and poems memorized
