Lammas: First Harvest & The Creation of the Worlds

Fourth grade begins with the dramatic Norse creation story—fire and ice meeting in the void to create all that exists.

Week 1: Ginnungagap—The Void Before Creation

Read the Norse creation story: fire and ice, Muspelheim and Niflheim. Narrate and illustrate in main lesson book.

Introduction to fractions: dividing the harvest into halves, thirds, quarters. Hands-on with bread and apples.

Draw a map of your home (bird's eye view). Learn cardinal directions.

✏️ Form Drawing

Introduction to Norse interlace—simple knotwork patterns

Begin wheat weaving or corn dolly for Lammas
